Upgrade PSP straight to Custom Firmware

Works on firmware: 1.00, 1.50 | All CFW

Also Needed:
- Memory Stick (preferably larger than 32MB)
- A PSP battery that is charged more than 76%

Instructions:

1) Start here if you have firmware 1.50 or CFW lower than 4.00 M33
- Download the 5.00 M33 Recovery Package -- HERE
- Open the .rar
- Copy 500.PBP to the root of your Memory Stick
- If your PSP is running 1.50 official firmware, open the FW1.50 folder and copy both folders (%_SCE_rflash and _SCE_rflash) to /PSP/GAME
- If your PSP is running CFW instead, copy the RECOVERY folder to /PSP/GAME
- Disconnect your PSP

2)
- Once finished, go (on your PSP) to Game > Memory Stick.
- Run Hellcat's Recovery Flasher
- Choose "I AGREE, now take me to the program!"
- Scroll down to Install CFW (of version selected above) and press X
- Choose "reset (format) settings as well"

3)
- Wait as 5.00 M33-6 is installed on your PSP
- When it is finished, press any button to reboot the PSP
- Enter your settings again

4) Start here if you have firmware above 4.00 M33
- Download 5.50 GEN-D3 -- HERE
- Extract the .rar file somewhere
- Copy the UPDATE folder from the .rar to your PSP under /PSP/GAME/
- Copy 550.PBP to the root of your memory stick
- Disconnect your PSP

5)
- On your PSP, go to Game > Memory Stick
- Run the 5.50 GEN-D3 updater
- Follow the on screen instructions

You should now have 5.50 GEN-D3 Custom Firmware installed on your PSP. Go exploring and find some homebrew to put on it __________________
