Rumor: iPod Touch To Have Retina Display and Two Cameras?
John Gruber from Daring Fireball hinted that the next generation iPod Touch will sport a Retina Display — Same as the iPhone 4 — and two cameras in a post about Dell’s Streak product — Gruber also hints that it will be released within the next ‘few weeks’ which is a very reasonable time frame as Apple always seems to update the iPod lineup before the holiday season.
That’s almost twice as much as a good iPod Touch, and if you wait a few weeks to buy the Touch, you’ll get one with a Retina Display and dual cameras. If Dell can’t make an iPod Touch competitor, who can?
We posted images of what appears to be the new front part of the screen. You can clearly see a hole on the top of the screen appropriate for a front-facing camera, presumably for FaceTime usage.
iPod Touch getting a retina display seems obvious, why wouldn’t a next-gen device get a retina display. However, the dual cameras seem more of a stretch but again, why wouldn’t it get it? Only time will tell.
