Backup Manager: Stealth Edition Released
So apparently Sony can detect the ID of whatever game (or homebrew) being ran when logged into PSN; that said, keytor has released a new Backup Manager with the “LAUN-12345″ ID changed to that of Modern Warfare 2. Whether or not Sony has other means of detecting Backup Manager is unknown at this time.
Perhaps creating a new user on your PS3 and never logging into PSN is your best bet, or just buy another PS3 and keep it at 3.41 for PSGroove purposes. My spidey-senses tell me a mandatory firmware update is coming real soon.
How to install it? If you have Package Manager working from the XMB just load the appropriate pkg — two are included, one US and one EU — from a mass storage device.
