The purpose of this software is to extend the PlayStation Portable's adhoc game function using the PlayStation Network through the PlayStation 3's built-in wi-fi. Therefore it is not compatible with the wifi-less PlayStation 3 20GB model (CECHB00). The PlayStation 3 must be connected to the Internet with a broadband network (wired) connection since the wireless connection is used as a server for the PlayStation Portable. Another constraint is the PlayStation Portable user must remain close to the PlayStation 3 so the PS3 to PSP wi-fi connection is still active during ad hoc playtime.

How to get it:
In order to get adhoc party you will first need a Japanese PSN account which unless you can read it, it kinda sucks so this is how you do it:

and to download it go to your PSN store and I believe its in one of the categories near the bottom and the icon has a green background and it says ad hoc on it so you'll know when you see it

How to use it
1) To use it start the adhoc program (obviously)
2) choose the first option (the one at the top)

3) then click yes on all the agreements but BEWARE: at the last one its set to NO so make sure you move the selection over to YES
4) then you will be at the world/lobby select screen here you can press L1/R1 ro switch servers and move the left analog stick to chose your lobby, the lobbys are selected in groups so after you click on one you will be moved into another screen that allows you to select one of the 3 lobbys that were raised
5) Go to the lobby you and your friend planned to meet
6) make a house by moving the cursor somewhere in the lobby and pressing circle and choosing the bottom option then have your friend join your house
7) Now to play together chose the adhoc function for the game you want to play for the example I will be using Dissidia so, you choose the adhoc function then go into lobby 1 and have your friend do the same and he/she should pop up in the menu and press O to challenge him/her
and there you have "online" w/o the need of a wireless router
